To become fearless, we have to be willing to do what others will not do. It may even appear to onlookers (those who are still on the boat) to be irrational. This means that the fearless person acts in that moment of indifference cognitively aware of their fears but embraces uncertainty, even a willingness to look stupid, releases control and then keeps their eye locked on the prize.
